FAQs

Can I extend my stay in Spain before or after the retreat?

Absolutely. Many participants arrive a few days early in Madrid or stay afterward to explore Northern Spain and/or Portugal. We can provide recommendations. If coming from another time zone, arriving two days early in Europe to get over jetlag is recommended.  WILD has a preferred travel agent familiar with travel to Spain who we can connect you to.

What's the weather like in late September?

Generally pleasant. Daytime temperatures typically range from 15-22°C (60-72°F). We can expect drizzle at some point during the trip. We recommend layers and rain gear just in case.

Is this retreat religiously affiliated?

No. While the Camino de Santiago is a Catholic pilgrimage route, our retreat is secular and welcomes people of all faiths and beliefs.

What if I need to cancel?

50% refunds available up until Dec. 31, 2025. After that deposits are non-refundable. Full cancellation policy provided upon acceptance.

Do I need to speak Spanish?

No. All facilitation is in English, and the facilitators will assist with any necessary translation during the retreat.

Will there be time for personal reflection, or is it all group activities?

The schedule balances solo walking time, paired conversations, small group dialogue, and full group workshops. Generally, when walking, people will alternate walking in conversation and walking while enjoying some individual reflective time. You'll have ample space for personal reflection.

The Power of Walking and Reflection

Movement changes thinking. When we walk side by side, our brains engage differently. Ideas flow. Defenses soften. Clarity emerges.

Research shows that walking:

  • Enhances creative problem-solving

  • Reduces anxiety and creates mental space for reflection

  • Facilitates deeper, more authentic conversation

  • Allows the body to process what the mind is working through

On this retreat, walking is not incidental. It's integral. For three days, you'll walk on the Camino, with intentional reflection prompts, guided exercises, and ample time for conversation with your cohort.

You'll alternate between:

  • Peer-to-peer walking conversations to go deep

  • Solo walking time for personal reflection

  • Small group dialogue to process insights together

  • Sit-down workshops to build skills, integrate learning, and plan next steps

This is an embodied strategy - transformation through movement.
